A sauna's electricity bill is driven by two things people usually miss: the heater pulls full power to heat up, then only sips power to hold temperature. This calculator splits those phases so the per-session figure is realistic, then projects your weekly and yearly cost at your own tariff.
Your sauna and tariff
The session figure assumes the heater holds temperature by cycling on and off, so it only draws a fraction of its rated power once the room is hot. An uninsulated barrel cycles harder, so it costs more to hold than an insulated cabin of the same size. Infrared cabins skip the heat-up phase and run at lower power throughout, which is why they cost so much less per session.
