Tylö and Finnleo Infrared Saunas Recalled: 41,580 Units

Two sauna recalls landed on the same day, both from Sauna360, the company behind Tylö, Helo, Finnleo, Saunatec and Amerec. Both are US Consumer Product Safety Commission notices covering units sold in the United States and Canada, not the UK. They are worth knowing about here anyway, because the brands are sold in Britain and the faults are in the panels and benches rather than in anything country-specific.

41,580 infrared saunas recalled over a fire risk

On 17 September the CPSC announced a recall of Sauna360 infrared saunas, hybrid infrared saunas and infrared kits, after 67 reports of overheating, melting, charring or burning. No injuries have been reported. The infrared panels can short circuit and overheat, which the CPSC classes as a fire and burn hazard.

The scale is unusual: about 41,580 units in the United States plus 6,758 in Canada, sold from May 2013 through July 2026 for between $6,000 and $13,000, through Costco and pool and spa dealers. The affected brands are Finnleo (IS Series, S Series, Sentinel, Sentinel Hybrid), Helo (S Series), Radiant Health (Elite, Pause), Sauna360 (E Series), Saunatec (B Series), Tylo (IG Series, Kiruna, Kiruna Hybrid) and Tylohelo (B Series, S Series), plus infrared kits with panels branded Saunalogic, Infralogic, Carbonflex, Aspire or Bliss. The remedy is a free in-home repair by a professional installer.

Thirteen years of sales is the part that should make owners pay attention. If you have an infrared cabin or a retrofitted IR kit from any of those brands, the control panel or the manual will carry one of those names, and the serial number is usually under the lower bench or on the wall beneath the upper bench. The Tylö bench recall has been expanded, because the first repair did not work

The second notice, also 17 September, expands an October 2025 recall of about 6,000 Tylö Halmstad and Kiruna Hybrid sauna rooms whose benches can collapse. Since the original recall Sauna360 has received 77 more reports of benches breaking, with six injuries, including one person with head and neck injuries and another with a sprained ankle. The CPSC is blunt about why: “the previous recall repair was ineffective; a new repair is now being offered.”

That is the line that matters. Anyone who had the 2025 fix done is told to stop using the sauna again and book the new one, in which an installer retrofits the benches with additional hardware and supports. The rooms were sold through various distributors from July 2024 to July 2026 for $6,000 to $12,000, and the manufacturer is named as SFactor, of China. Serial number labels sit beneath the upper bench on the left for Halmstad 2, 3 and 4, and beneath the right side of the upper bench for Kiruna Hybrid 2 and 3. Notice at CPSC.

What a UK owner should actually do

No UK recall has been issued for either fault, and these notices do not apply to British units. That is not the same as a guarantee that the hardware is different. Sauna360 runs a product recall page of its own at sauna360.com/product-recall, and the cheapest sensible step is to find your serial number and put it to Sauna360 or to the dealer who installed the cabin, in writing, and ask directly whether your unit is in either affected range.

Two smaller points for anyone shopping. First, infrared and traditional saunas fail in different ways, and the fire risk here is specific to electrically driven IR panels rather than a stove and stones, which is one more thing to weigh in traditional versus infrared. Second, a bench that collapses under load is a build-quality problem, not a brand-tier problem: these were $6,000 to $12,000 rooms.
